Marion
As the beginning starts the character is explaining where Marion lived. The description was quite clear, as I read it I can picture her house and its a clear picture. I also can see they are two years apart and she also explains what her and Marion used to do. The author is giving a lot of background information about Marion I think t o introduce why she would stay with Marion weeks at a time due to the reason of her mother's actions.

This section is getting more into detail about the way men are looking at her. She's young for that to be occurring. Where they are seems to be okay for everyone around there to do that. It seems like all of the men and women that are there are comfortable. The way Marion tells her that they are going to wear the swimsuits because its hot is kind of disturbing to be saying at a young age. Even though Marion is 13 and Emma is 11 they're way too young to be thinking that way and Emma being influenced by that but where they live everyone around acts like its normal.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It is clear in this section that Emma is trying to give us a clear understanding of who Marion is and what she is like. She is also establishing what kind of friendship she has with Marion. It is clear that they have established a pretty close relationship throuogh rtheir time and experiences together.
