"Bicentennial" by Dan Chiasson

I personally love how it uses repetition and rhyme. It seems like the author is remembering his children and is not satisfied with his adulthood now.His basically explaining how his adulthood went a different way and  he wants to share his life but he doesn't know in what way or how to do so. "I have this wish to get caught up in something precisely unlike a poem, unlike writing..." He or she explains that they want to be straight forward and not beat around the bush. Or his just trying to get away from reality and just go back to when he didn't have to care about anything.

"Was to be quite specifically targeted for love,
As though a letter from a stranger had arrived.
Delivering the best, the most unexpected, news.."

I feel like his talking about how he felt when he was in Bicentennial celebration and how he remembered how it was like and he saw everything so Innocent like. Its basically memories that he has from his childhood" Neighbor who moved to Boston ad became a caterer before he moved back home into his bedroom" his remembering this neighbor who put him on his shoulders when he was younger and is now an adult. His imaging himself and how it was like back then and makes him miss how it felt like to be surrounded by his family members and feel all the love. I really like how he describes what he remembers seeing but in the point of view in a child's eyes.
