It is rather funny how this is all about Marion. Marion is like this goddess but I feel that is because Emma is projecting her desires onto Marion. By desires I mean what she wishes her life was like save for her being the friend. It is a shame that Emma is the friend and Marion is this center of attention showing us the grass isn't greener on the other side. Marion has grown up around men.
The narrator is getting way too much attention. It is like she is growing up without even being born. Marion is the only person she really has to guide her but Marion does not have a guide herself so it is like the blind leading the blind. The narrator does not feel comfortable in her own body and that is where I feel the connection grows. Marion emulates this adult confidence, something the narrator wishes she would be able to do.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the statement that the narrator is uncomfortable in there own body but when you say its the blind leading the blind I don't agree because its obvious that Marion is pursuing something that interest her while the narrator wants something completely different and separate
